About This Tour

Tracking The Apex Predator

Florida's American alligator is one of the most remarkable conservation success stories in history — hunted to the brink, now thriving at an estimated 1.3 million strong. This expedition puts you on the water with a guide who uses tracking knowledge and lake behavior patterns to find them where they feed, bask, and nest.

Along the way you'll learn alligator biology and behavior — how they thermoregulate, why they bellow, where they nest, and the role they play as ecosystem engineers of Florida's wetlands. Best experienced March through October when activity peaks, but the expedition runs year-round.

Before You Book

Good Questions

Are gator sightings guaranteed?
No wild animal ever is — but this expedition exists because our guides know exactly where activity is documented and current. If gators are your priority, this is the tour that maximizes your odds.
Is this a hunting tour?
No — this is a wildlife observation expedition. Alligators are observed from the boat at safe, legal distances, and we never approach, bait, or feed wildlife. For Florida's licensed seasonal harvest (Aug–Nov), ask us about the Gator Hunting Tour.
How is this different from the Wildlife Tour?
The Wildlife Tour is a one-hour introduction to the whole ecosystem. This is two hours routed exclusively through high-density gator territory with much deeper educational content on the animal itself.
When is the best time to go?
March through October is peak — courtship in spring, nesting in summer, and the pre-winter feed in fall. Winter trips still produce midday baskers.
When should I book?
By reservation, 7 days a week, minimum 2 guests. Book a few days ahead or call/text 352-587-3422 for same-day availability.
